Aug 2021 Clinic Update

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since we’ve last updated so we wanted to fill people in. Unfortunately, veterinary clinics around the country and the world are experiencing huge staff shortages which has led to long wait times and waiting weeks or months for appointments.

§  Same day appointments in most situations, are hard, if not impossible to come by! We are still EXTREMELY busy with sick patients; we are trying to squeeze everything we can in but with currently only one doctor and a limited support staff there are only so many pets we can see in one day. We have been referring patients to the emergency clinics when necessary. We understand this can be frustrating, but it is for the best interest of your pet if we think they need immediate care, intensive care (ICU), oxygen therapy, emergency surgery, etc.

§  Please plan and schedule your pets’ appointments accordingly! Even wellness/vaccine appointments are booked out nearly 2 months in advance! We are prioritizing our current clients and patients, to the best of our ability and due to this may be unavailable for new clients.

§  For the continued safety of our staff and clients, with the resurgence of COVID-19 cases, we are staying curbside only for the foreseeable future. With the exception of euthanasia, for those appointments we will allow 2 people max. in the building, masks required.

§  For curbside appointments, when you arrive for your appointment, please call into the office to check in. You will then briefly talk to a technician who will discuss what the plans are for your pet’s appointment and ask you a few questions about your pet to get a baseline history. Someone will then come to your car to take said pet into the office for the doctor to examine while you wait in the car. After the exam is done with, the doctor will talk to you either at your car or over the phone and discuss your pet’s appointment and answer any questions you may have.

§  We have a new payment device! After you speak to the doctor, one of the receptionists will come to the car to invoice you, please don’t leave before this is done!

§  Please give 24-hour notice when ordering food and/or medications. Emergency refills may be subject to a $10 dispensing fee.

§  Pet food companies are having a lot of issues keeping certain food in stock so getting specialized prescription foods may become difficult. If your pet is on a special diet, we recommend keeping an ample stock!

§  We are still doing very limited boarding, please give the office a call if you are interested in boarding to see if we can accommodate specific dates.

§  Mondays for the foreseeable future we’ll only be seeing appointments in the morning.

§  Tuesday is our surgery day so with only one doctor currently, we are unable to see any appointments on Tuesday as the doctor is in surgery all day.

§  Saturdays for the month of August are: 8/7 – open, 8/14 – closed, 8/21 – open, 8/28 – closed, 9/4 – open. The office will also be fully closed on 8/18.

§  The phones still haven’t stopped and are still ringing off the hook so PLEASE be patient if you're on hold longer than normal.

§  If you leave a voicemail for the doctor, please give her 3-5 days to get back to you! We hope to get back to you sooner, but we just can’t guarantee it with how busy we are. The doctor does NOT check her email every day, so it may take a few days to get a reply to those also.
